A Message from the Chief…

To Our Citizens:

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as your EMS Chief.  I am fortunate to serve alongside so many wonderful people from throughout our community; who work together to provide you with prompt, professional, and compassionate care in the event of a medical emergency.   

Rittman EMS is a combination part-time / paid-on-call municipal EMS service comprised of 31 dedicated EMT’s and Paramedics.  These individuals willingly give of their time and energy to provide top-notch service to the residents and visitors of our community.  Since the creation of the department in March of 1981, the department has witnessed dramatic growth.  Initially responding to 236 calls for service, the department now handles over 850 runs annually.   We have encountered a 61% increase in call volume in just the past ten years alone!  The men and women of the department have stepped up and met the challenges of this growth.

I encourage you take the time to look through our website to learn more about what your EMS providers do for you--in addition to providing high quality emergency medical care.  While I hope you never need to utilize our emergency services, I assure you that we strive to provide you the highest quality service possible.   

I also would welcome you to take a few minutes, and stop by your EMS station to see your equipment, and meet the fine men and women who serve our community.
